Anna Kamińska – author of books and bestselling biographies whose translation rights have been sold to five countries: the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Lithuania, and North Macedonia, as well as reportage. She is the biographer of the naturalist Simona Kossak (Simona. A Story of the Extraordinary Life of Simona Kossak, 2015), Himalayan climbers Wanda Rutkiewicz (Wanda. A Story of the Power of Life and Death. The Story of Wanda Rutkiewicz, 2017) and Halina Krüger-Syrokomska (Halina. They Don’t Make Women Like That Anymore. A Story of Halina Krüger-Syrokomska, 2019), the social activist Marek Kotański (Kotański. God the Father. Confrontation. A Story of the Legendary Founder of MONAR, 2021), and composer and Maanam band member Marek Jackowski. All of her biographies were published by Wydawnictwo Literackie.

She is also the author of the books Białowieża, in a Whisper. Stories from the Białowieża Forest (2017), Don’t Ask. Stories from the Bieszczady Mountains. About Women, the Forest, and the Snake from the San Valley (2025), and the short story collection Found. True Stories of Adoptees (2010).

Kamińska is the laureate of the Wiesław Kazanecki Literary Award of the President of Białystok for Białowieża, in a Whisper in 2018. In 2016, her book Simona was nominated for the same prize. Her book about Wanda Rutkiewicz was nominated for the Bestsellery Empiku Award as one of the two most widely read biographies in Poland in 2017. The book Wanda was published in Spain by Desnivel, in Lithuania by Plungės savivaldybės viešoji biblioteka, and in North Macedonia by Exo.

For the book Halina, the author received the Zakopane Literary Award in 2020 and won the Grand Prix in the 2019 Mountain Book of the Year competition at the 24th Andrzej Zawada Mountain Festival in Lądek-Zdrój. Halina also won the 2019 Sports Book of the Year poll in the Best Mountain Book category. For the book Marek Jackowski. Louder! The Story of the Creator of Maanam (2023), she was nominated for the Wawrzyn Literary Award of Warmia and Mazury.

Anna Kamińska is a graduate of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw and has basic musical education in the cello class. A theatre show based on her book Simona was created: Simona K. Calling in the Wilderness, a monodrama performed by Agnieszka Przepiórska-Frankiewicz (directed by Anna Gryszkówna, text by Piotr Rowicki), staged, among others, at the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Kraków, as well as a feature film directed by Adrian Panek titled Simona Kossak.
